It makes my little cheese and pasta loving heart to just pitter patter.
I decided last night the Urban Farmer and I will grill up some chicken, cook up some noodles and I was going to make Alfredo sauce.
My mother for years has told legends of the Alfredo sauce that she use to make while she was a triathelete -- but to date I have yet to try this sauce. Therefore, tonight I was on the quest for healthIER Alfredo sauce. (Mother if your reading this I still want the recipe)
The Following are the ingredients:
¼ cup of all purpose flour
¼ tbs of garlic powder
¼ tbs of Black pepper
1 cup of Chicken broth
1/3 c of plain no-fat yogurt
6 tbs of Parmesan
1 tsp of oregano
a pinch of parsley
Combine the flour, garlic powder, pepper and broth in a skillet at low heat. Stir occasionally till sauce begins to boil and thicken. Remove from heat. Stir in yogurt, Parmesan and herbs.
So easy and so good! The Urban Farmer and I figured that there were only about 150 calories in the WHOLE pan -- Sounds like my kind of my kind of Italian!!!
